Sustainability at Insulfoam

At Insulfoam, sustainability is embedded in everything we do. As a division of Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies and part of Carlisle Companies, Insulfoam is a leading North American manufacturer of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation and structural fill solutions. We deliver high-performance insulation across residential, commercial, and infrastructure applications that promote energy efficiency.

Building a Better Future Through Smarter Insulation

Insulation plays a critical role in reducing energy consumption and environmental impact by enabling buildings to conserve energy, reduce pollution, and preserve natural resources.

Our EPS insulation is engineered to:
  • Improve building energy efficiency, reducing the demand for heating and cooling
  • Lower greenhouse gas emissions by minimizing energy demand
  • Enhance indoor comfort and air quality
  • Support long-term building performance

Not all insulation performs the same over time. Insulfoam EPS delivers long-term R-value and thermal performance that does not degrade over time, helping to conserve energy throughout the life of the building. By helping structures effectively retain energy, Insulfoam products contribute to a more sustainable built environment.

Reducing Waste Through Recyclability

Insulfoam EPS insulation is one of the few rigid insulation materials that is fully recyclable. For example, Insulfoam incorporates manufacturing scrap back into the production process minimizing waste sent to landfill and reinforcing EPS as a recyclable insulation material. Additionally, EPS that is removed from a project, if free of contaminants, is also 100% recyclable. This closed-loop recycling supports circular economy principles.

Industry Compliance

We are committed to transparency and continuous improvement. Insulfoam supports industry-wide sustainability initiatives and provides access to third-party verified environmental data. Insulfoam complies with ASHRAE Standard 90.1‑2022 and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) by delivering continuous insulation that meets or exceeds minimum thermal performance requirements by climate zone and assembly type.

Green Building Certifications

Insulfoam products are designed to help projects meet or exceed evolving energy codes and green building standards. Insulfoam can contribute to LEED® certification.  Product information is supported by our industry-wide Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), providing third party verified environmental data.

Using Insulfoam products may qualify for regional energy efficiency incentives and rebates tied to high-performance building design. Availability and applicability of incentives vary by jurisdiction, program, and project type, and should be verified by the architect, designer, or authority having jurisdiction.

Making a Difference

As a manufacturer of a critical component to help create energy-efficient buildings, Insulfoam is uniquely positioned to drive meaningful environmental impact. Our mission is to create long term thermal performing products that make a difference.

From reducing energy consumption to minimizing waste and supporting green building initiatives, Insulfoam EPS insulation helps customers build smarter, more sustainable structures.
