Insulfoam® EPS
Expanded Polystyrene Insulation for Roof, Wall, Below-Grade Applications
Superior closed-cell, lightweight, EPS is available in a range of densities, shapes, standard and custom sizes - EPS delivers a long-term, stable R-value with no thermal drift.
Product Details
Superior closed-cell, lightweight expanded polystyrene (EPS) delivers the highest R-value per dollar in the rigid insulation category. Available in a range of densities, standard and custom sizes and shapes, EPS delivers a long-term, stable R-value with no thermal drift.
With excellent dimensional stability, compressive and flexural strength, moisture resistance with high drying potential, EPS is successfully used in numerous commercial, industrial and residential applications, including Roofing (Flat, Tapered, Hybrid) and Reroofing, Wall (EIFS, Cavity Wall, Continuous Insulation, and Siding Underlayment), Below-Grade, Foundation and Perimeter Insulation.
Within roofing, EPS is ideal for single-ply applications that employ mechanically fastened or ballasted TPO, PVC, and EPDM, as well as low-slope built-up, modified bitumen and fully adhered single-ply roofs that incorporate cover boards or slip sheets. It is compatible with both light- and dark-colored single-ply membranes, and can be applied directly to metal decks. Insulfoam EPS is also available in higher compressive strengths and can be manufactured with fire-rated facers and coverboards. Always consult local building codes and membrane manufacturers for system requirements.
Insulfoam EPS is available in 4′ x 4′ and 4′ x 8′ standard sizes with flat thicknesses of ½" to 40", and in a range of densities (10-100 psi). Panels can be factory cut to custom lengths and widths. Insulfoam EPS is also available with factory cut tapered panels from 0 (1/8" actual) to 40" thick, in any slope and density (from 1.0 – 3.0 pcf) and with custom crickets, valley, saddles, and sumps.
Insulfoam EPS meets the requirements of ASTM C578 (Standard Specification for Rigid, Cellular Polystyrene Thermal Insulation) with recognition by the International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) and numerous Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM) Approvals. EPS has excellent dimensional stability, compressive strength and delivers a long-term, stable R-value with no thermal drift. Insulfoam EPS does not contain any ozone-depleting blowing agents and is 100% recyclable if removed or replaced. Insulfoam utilizes sustainable manufacturing processes, with raw materials that retain their thermal properties long term. Insulfoam EPS products are eligible for a 100%, 20-year thermal performance warranty. Insulfoam EPS can also contribute toward environmental credentialing including LEED® credits.
